The Great Vigil of Easter

We gather on Holy Saturday evening for the Great Vigil of Easter. This is one of the most complex but beautiful liturgies of the Church, taking us from the darkened tomb to the miracle of Resurrection. We begin this liturgy outside with the lighting of the newly adorned Paschal Candle. Then we hear some of the stories of Salvation history though the many ages of our past. And this year, we are excited to baptize Silvie, a beautiful baby girl of our parish family! And finally, we celebrate the first mass of Easter with the acclamation, “The Lord is Risen!”
